Enticing blurbs are little links or statements on the home page that get the reader to click for the actual content of the article. In other words look at the media web pages and see the links they create. The media has little one line blurbs or titles for the article that get you to click on the actual content, thus you spend more time on the website.

Newsletters will also help. If you offer a newsletter via email or even offer the newsletter to be read on the site you will increase the interest of visitors and have them return to spend more time on the website.

Above all else is the consideration of SEO articles. These articles are designed to use relevant keywords and increase the traffic to your website and thus the time spent on the website. If you combine all of the techniques above you will find yourself with an increased rank and more traffic.
