Internet campaigns
Using Internet advertising campaigns, Ad words and pay per click to promote your website
The first thing you may be thinking is what exactly is an Internet campaign, basically this is a marketing technique, which is used to promote the website, in a specific manner. Usually this is accomplished through the use of programs such as Google Adwords.
The next question you might be asking is why you would want to conduct Internet advertising campaigns and the answer to that is increased traffic. That’s right, Internet advertising campaigns are designed to increase the amount of traffic that hits your website and there by also increases page ranking and the number of potential sales.
You will be surprised how many people actually conduct Internet advertising campaigns. For example, have you ever been on a website and seen the advertising bar with sponsored links in small letters with the banner or under the advertisements. These are usually the result of AdWords campaigns and designed to promote related products or services. Alternatively, they may be placed on to sites where the chances of getting a visitor to click are high.
This leads into the models for payment when it comes to Internet advertising. There are a variety of different ways that payment is made for advertisements on the web. These payments are fixed sum, pay per click and pay per impression primarily. There may be other options however, they are not as widely used and so contact with them may be rare.
Fixed sum – this is basically a set amount is paid out for the advertisement this means that no matter how many websites it ends up on or how many people click on to it there will be no additional payments made.
Pay per click - this is a system of payment that pays a certain amount each time an advertisement is clicked on and the person opens up the corresponding website. This is usually a set a mount and may be set based on keywords, or other means. The prime example of this is the AdWords program offered through the Google advertisement system.
Pay per impression – this is basically similar to fixed sum only you are paid for every time the advertisement appears on a page. That means if a page has rotating ads and yours shows up twice in the rotation and is viewed you get paid the fee for each time.
The AdWords system is the most often used, it involves selecting the keywords, the actual most important part of the entire process and then setting the price per click. The reason why the keywords are actually more important is that by choosing the correct keywords for the program you can actually increase the number of times the ad appears and thereby have the opportunity to increase the amount of your total payment even with a lower set price per click.
All of these methods provide Internet advertising and appear just about everywhere you go on the web. They are an excellent way to create an additional source of revenue from your site as well as help to increase the traffic to your site. Of course, increasing the traffic helps to increase page ranking which in turn increases traffic and thereby increases the number of potential customers, which view your site as a part of a search and then may visit your site. The more people who visit the more chances you have to sell your products and services. With this in mind, it is a good idea to consider Internet advertising when putting together an Internet marketing strategy and considering all the available options.
